cottonwood canyon road

Nick Chase is off to Cottonwood Road with Grand Staircase ATV Tours in this week’s “Where To” segment. This area’s unique rock formations come from the tectonic activity in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and they’re simply amazing.

This 45-mile trail out of Kodachrome Basin State Park offers plenty of offshoots along the way for exploration, adventure and views, views, views! With highlights like Grosvenor Arch, the fascinating geological features of The Cockscomb and the slot canyons of Cottonwood Narrows, be sure to plan some time for hiking and taking it all in while you’re out in this remote desert wonderland.

Base camp is Tropic where you can find lovely accommodations, gas and supplies as well as tasty grab ‘n go style restaurants that include pizza, sandwiches and BBQ.
