Kevin and Gina Mortensen have their heads in the clouds at the Eyes to the Sky Balloon Festival in Salina. This fantastic community event brings together wonderful vendors, concerts, a carnival complete with exciting rides and Gina’s favorite, incredible food! The colorful hot air balloons spark major smiles, which is what their FAA-certified pilots love most. The beautiful city of Salina features museums, campgrounds, a speedway, awesome restaurants and of course, access to all Southern Utah has to offer.
In this week’s “Where To,” we check out the fantastic UTV Trails in Blanding. There is a reason this adorable city’s tagline is “Base Camp to Adventure.” With easy hikes, challenging offroad trails, Bear Ears and Natural Bridges National Monuments and much more all accessible from town, this San Juan County delight is sure to capture your heart and your spirit.
In this week’s “What’s New,” Ria joins Anthony Lujan from Smoke Ain’t No Joke BBQ and the Pitmasters Podcast to grill up Yardley Premium Beef t-bone steaks. Seasoned to perfection with Anthony’s competition rubs and grilled at 700 degrees to get the meat to the target temperature of 135 degrees, these steaks are juicy and packed with flavor.
In our “Along the Way,” we head out on The Big Ride 2021, which brings together offroad groups from around the state. It takes place over several days and hundreds of exciting and dusty miles. This year, we explored the Hole-in-the-Rock trail, but the real goal of the ride is to network with other trail guides and club leaders, fostering a strong community for trail advocacy and access.
