Northern pike are a real problem in Utah Lake, and this species is decimating native species in the lake, like the endangered june sucker. Giant pike can grow to more than four feet, and their diet is heavy on popular sport fish like white bass and walleye.

Utah’s Division of Wildlife Resources inserts a transponder to track the fish’s movements with the eventual goal of eradicating them from the lake. Check out yet another cool fact-packed Reece Stein segment this weekend!
