The one and only Reece Stein brings us a spooktacular visit to Durango, Colorado, for this week’s “Where To?” segment. This recreational wonderland in southwestern Colorado features the famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Train that has run on its tracks since 1882. But the city’s haunted legend stems from its unfortunate history when Spanish settlers conquered local Native Americans, killing them and throwing them in the Animas River, now known as the River of Lost Souls. Durango’s Rochester hotel has gained notoriety as one of the 100 most haunted hotels in America, and its Leland House and General Palmer hotel guests frequently spot apparitions. Don’t fear though, there are mountain biking and hiking trails as well as fly fishing to enjoy scare-free, if that’s your thing
