Kevin and Gina and the kids go exploring with our friends from UTV Utah and Gorilla Offroad for their first annual Watermelon Crawl. This awesome event features incredible river views, rock crawling and even an abandoned missile bunker as well as lots of fun and passionate offroaders.
The group heads to Crystal Geyser, a rare cold-water, carbon dioxide-driven geyser that erupts twice a day. It’s a popular spot for good reason. Even with cloudy skies and some sprinkles, you can’t help but become entranced by the cascading colors of sandstone, sparkling waters and epic views.
Base camp is Green River, a wonderful small town we’ve fallen in love with! Bonus that they’ve welcomed the offroad community big time. During your stay, check out the John Wesley Powell River History Museum where our crew discovers why this event is called the Watermelon Crawl! From pioneer history to dinosaurs to watermelon, this museum showcases a little bit of all of the things that make this small community so charming.
After a long day on the trail, we’re back at AYL favorites Ray’s Tavern and The Tamarisk Restaurant to fill our bellies, and naturally, we spend the night as there are plenty of lovely hotels to choose from in Green River. Join us for our latest offroad adventure!
